Description

The Dakota Lithium DL Dashboard Battery Monitor & Solar Integration Kit combines a Bluetooth battery monitor, 15A/300W solar charge controller, and complete wiring harness in one box. Track state of charge, voltage, power consumption, and charging efficiency in real time from the free DL Dashboard app on your phone. The integrated solar controller outputs 14.4V optimized for LiFePO4 batteries, with 98% efficiency and support for panels up to 300W. Everything you need to add solar charging and smart monitoring to a 12V Dakota Lithium system.

Applications

  • Small off-grid solar — cabin, shed, or workshop solar setup with battery monitoring from your phone
  • RV solar integration — add solar charging to your RV house battery with real-time SOC tracking
  • Beginner solar builds — all-in-one kit eliminates guesswork on component matching and wiring
  • Portable solar charging — pair with a foldable panel for campsite or tailgate battery top-ups
  • Ice fishing & hunting blinds — monitor battery level remotely to know when to pack up
  • Marine solar — add solar maintenance charging to your boat's Dakota Lithium house bank
Features & Benefits
  •  Bluetooth battery monitor — real-time state of charge, voltage, power consumption, and charging efficiency displayed on the free DL Dashboard app (iOS & Android).
  • 15A / 300W solar charge controller — handles up to 300W of solar input at 25V max, with 14.4V output perfectly tuned for LiFePO4 chemistry.
  • 98% charge efficiency — minimal energy loss between solar panels and battery means faster charging and more usable power from your panels.
  • Complete wiring kit included — battery-to-controller cables, solar input wiring, and a parallel solar panel wiring kit for multi-panel setups. No separate purchases needed.
  • LiFePO4 optimized — charge profile set to 14.4V absorption voltage, matching Dakota Lithium battery specifications. No manual configuration required.
  • All-in-one simplicity — replaces buying a separate battery monitor, solar charge controller, and wiring kit. Ideal for beginners building their first solar setup.
  • Parallel panel support — included wiring kit connects 2-3 solar panels in parallel to maximize charge current within the 15A/300W limit.
  • Universal 12V compatibility — works with any 12V Dakota Lithium battery from the 18Ah to the 280Ah.

Warranty Details

The DL Dashboard Battery Monitor & Solar Integration Kit is covered by Dakota Lithium's 1-year manufacturer warranty against defects. Note: this is a shorter warranty than Dakota Lithium batteries (11 years) because it covers electronic accessories, not battery cells.

Frequently Asked Questions

What size solar panels work with this controller?

Any solar panel or panel combination that stays within 25V open-circuit voltage and 300W / 15A total output. A single 200-300W panel works well. For two panels, wire them in parallel (not series) using the included parallel wiring kit to keep voltage below 25V while combining current. Typical setups: 1× 300W panel, 2× 150W panels in parallel, or 3× 100W panels in parallel.

How does the DL Dashboard app compare to the Victron BMV-712?

The DL Dashboard provides SOC, voltage, power consumption, and charging efficiency—sufficient for most single-battery setups. The Victron BMV-712 offers more advanced features: historical data logging, programmable relay, midpoint voltage monitoring, and VE.Direct integration with Victron GX systems. For simple solar monitoring, the DL Dashboard is excellent. For complex multi-battery systems or Victron ecosystem integration, upgrade to the BMV-712.

Will this work with non-Dakota Lithium batteries?

The solar controller outputs 14.4V, which is the standard LiFePO4 absorption voltage. It will charge any 12V LiFePO4 battery safely. However, the DL Dashboard app is designed for Dakota Lithium batteries—SOC accuracy may vary with other brands. Do not use with lead-acid batteries (requires different charge voltage profile).

Can I expand beyond 300W of solar later?

The built-in controller maxes out at 15A / 300W. For larger solar arrays, you'll need a dedicated MPPT controller like the Victron SmartSolar MPPT 100/30 (440W capacity). You can still use the DL Dashboard battery monitor alongside a separate controller—just disconnect the solar input from this unit and wire panels to the new controller instead.

Why is the warranty only 1 year instead of 11?

Dakota Lithium's 11-year warranty applies to their battery cells. The DL Dashboard monitor and solar controller are electronic accessories with a standard 1-year manufacturer warranty. This is typical for charge controllers and battery monitors across the industry—Victron and other brands also offer shorter warranties on electronics vs batteries.
