Description
The Dakota Lithium Ultra Fast 36V 20A Waterproof Charger is purpose-built for 36V trolling motor batteries. IP67 waterproof for permanent onboard installation, Anderson SB50 quick-connect for plug-and-play charging, and smart BMS communication. Charges the 36V 60Ah battery in ~3 hours — have a full battery ready before the next tournament day.
Key Features
- ✓ IP67 waterproof — permanently mount in your boat. Submersible-rated construction handles bilge water, spray, and washdown.
- ✓ 20A fast charging — charges the 36V 60Ah in ~3 hours from fully discharged. Back to full between tournament days.
- ✓ Anderson SB50 quick-connect — free wiring kit with Anderson plug included. Plug in at the dock, unplug to fish.
- ✓ Smart BMS communication — wakes up a battery whose BMS has tripped from over-discharge. No manual reset needed.
- ✓ 43V output — correct charge voltage for all Dakota Lithium 36V LiFePO4 batteries. Will not overcharge.
- ✓ Side-mounted LED — red = charging, green = full. Visible when charger is mounted flat in tight spaces.

Applications
- Bass boat dock charging — mount permanently, plug in at the dock, unplug and fish
- Tournament fishing — 3-hour overnight charge means you’re always at 100% for day 2
- Guide boat operations — charge between trips for back-to-back full-day charters
- Pontoon boats — 36V trolling motor systems on larger boats
Important Notes
- 36V ONLY — do NOT connect to 12V, 24V, or 48V batteries. The 43V output will destroy non-36V batteries.
- LiFePO4 ONLY — do not use for lead-acid 36V systems. The charge profile is incompatible.
- Not a lead-acid charger — standard 36V golf cart chargers output 44.1V+ which exceeds the safe limit for LiFePO4.
FAQ
Can I use my existing 36V trolling motor charger?
Only if it’s specifically a 36V LiFePO4 charger with 42-43V max output. Standard lead-acid 36V chargers (for golf carts or old trolling motor batteries) typically charge to 44.1V — too high for LiFePO4 and will trigger the BMS repeatedly. This charger is purpose-built for Dakota Lithium’s 36V chemistry.
Can I leave it plugged in at the dock permanently?
Yes. Once the battery reaches full charge (green LED), the charger enters standby. It’s designed for permanent onboard installation where you plug into shore power whenever you’re docked. IP67 rating means dock spray, rain, and incidental water contact are not a problem.
Do I need this or can I use three 12V chargers on a 3× series setup?
If you have the Dakota Lithium 36V 60Ah single-case battery, you MUST use a 36V charger — not three 12V chargers. Three 12V chargers only work on three separate 12V batteries wired in series (one charger per battery). The single-case 36V battery has one set of terminals and needs a single 36V charger.
