The Dakota Lithium DL+ 12V 60Ah is the entry point to the DL+ dual-purpose line — 1,000 CCA engine starting plus 60Ah deep cycle capacity in a 16.5 lb package that fits Group 24, 78, and 51R trays. Ultra-fast charging hits 80% in 45 minutes. Even-Heat technology, IP65 waterproofing, and 134 verified reviews make this the most popular Dakota Lithium starter upgrade.

Absolutely. CCA (Cold Cranking Amps) is independent of Ah capacity. This battery delivers 1,000 CCA — the same cranking power as the 135Ah DL+. The 60Ah rating means less deep cycle reserve after starting, but for vehicles and boats where starting is the primary job with light accessory use, it’s the perfect balance of power and weight.
This battery accepts charge from your vehicle’s alternator, but the BMS limits intake to 80A. Most stock alternators (Ford F-150: ~150A, Toyota Tacoma: ~100A) output less than 80A to the battery after other vehicle loads, so it’s typically not an issue. If you have a high-output aftermarket alternator, ensure it’s regulated to ≤80A battery charge rate, or step up to the DL+ 135Ah (150A limit).
Same 1,000 CCA, same Even-Heat, same Group 24 base fitment. The 60Ah is lighter (16.5 vs 27.2 lbs), charges faster (45 min to 80%), and costs less ($615 vs $999). The 135Ah gives 2.25× the deep cycle reserve. Choose 60Ah when starting power and weight savings matter most; choose 135Ah when you need serious runtime alongside cranking.
Yes, at 80A charge rate. LiFePO4 chemistry accepts high charge currents without damage (unlike lead-acid which degrades with fast charging). The last 20% tapers down as cells balance, so 0-100% takes about 75 minutes at 80A. For comparison, a similar lead-acid battery takes 6-8 hours to fully charge.
