Description

The Victron Phoenix 12V 3000W is a high-power pure sine wave inverter that converts your 12V battery bank into a full 120V AC power source. 3000VA continuous output with ~6000W peak handles everything from power tools to air conditioners. VE.Bus communication enables up to 6 units in parallel (18kVA) or three-phase configuration for large installations.

Key Features

  • 3000VA / 2500W continuous — powers large appliances: microwave, AC, power tools, hair dryer, coffee maker simultaneously.
  • Pure sine wave output — safe for sensitive electronics, medical equipment, and variable-speed motors.
  • VE.Bus communication — parallel up to 6 units (18kVA) or configure three-phase for commercial installs.
  • ~6000W peak power — handles motor startup surges from compressors, pumps, and large tools.
  • 93-95% efficiency — minimal energy loss from battery to appliance.
  • 5-year Victron warranty — global service network, proven marine and off-grid reliability.

Important: Inverter Only

This is a pure inverter — it does NOT include a built-in battery charger or transfer switch. If you need inverter + charger + transfer switch in one unit, look at the Victron MultiPlus 12/2000 or MultiPlus-II 12/3000 instead. The Phoenix is for systems where charging is handled separately (solar, DC-DC, dedicated charger).

Applications

  • Large off-grid systems — cabin, home backup, remote power where high AC loads are required
  • Marine liveaboard — run full galley appliances, AC, and entertainment from battery bank
  • RV with heavy AC loads — air conditioner, microwave, induction cooktop from lithium bank
  • Mobile workshop — power tools, compressors, welders from vehicle battery system
  • Commercial/industrial — parallel multiple units for 6-18kVA systems

Compatible Batteries

  • Dakota Lithium DL+ 12V 320Ah — recommended minimum for sustained 2500W loads
  • Dakota Lithium 12V 100Ah (×2-4) — parallel bank for extended runtime
  • Dakota Lithium DL+ 12V 135Ah — good match for moderate loads

At 2500W from 12V, this inverter draws ~220A. A large battery bank (200Ah+) is essential for meaningful runtime.

FAQ

Why choose this over the MultiPlus?

The Phoenix is a dedicated inverter with no charger overhead — higher efficiency for pure inverter duty, lower cost, and parallel to 6 units vs 4 for MultiPlus. Choose the Phoenix when your charging is handled by separate equipment (solar controller, DC-DC charger, dedicated AC charger). Choose the MultiPlus when you want everything in one box.

What size battery bank do I need?

At full 2500W load from 12V: 100Ah lasts ~30 minutes, 200Ah ~1 hour, 320Ah ~1.5 hours. For typical mixed loads (500-1000W average), double those estimates. A 200Ah+ bank is the practical minimum for this inverter.

Can I parallel this with a MultiPlus?

No. VE.Bus parallel only works between identical units. You can parallel multiple Phoenix 12/3000s together, but not mix Phoenix with MultiPlus. They can coexist in a system via a GX device but won’t share load.
