Any solar panel or panel combination that stays within 25V open-circuit voltage and 300W / 15A total output. A single 200-300W panel works well. For two panels, wire them in parallel (not series) using the included parallel wiring kit to keep voltage below 25V while combining current. Typical setups: 1× 300W panel, 2× 150W panels in parallel, or 3× 100W panels in parallel.
How does the DL Dashboard app compare to the Victron BMV-712?
The DL Dashboard provides SOC, voltage, power consumption, and charging efficiency—sufficient for most single-battery setups. The Victron BMV-712 offers more advanced features: historical data logging, programmable relay, midpoint voltage monitoring, and VE.Direct integration with Victron GX systems. For simple solar monitoring, the DL Dashboard is excellent. For complex multi-battery systems or Victron ecosystem integration, upgrade to the BMV-712.
Will this work with non-Dakota Lithium batteries?
The solar controller outputs 14.4V, which is the standard LiFePO4 absorption voltage. It will charge any 12V LiFePO4 battery safely.
