Description

The DL+ 48V 135Ah Golf Cart Battery Set replaces your entire golf cart battery bank with four lightweight DL+ 12V 135Ah batteries wired in series. At 108.8 lbs total (vs 384 lbs for 6× lead-acid), it delivers 60+ miles per charge, 1,000 CCA dual-purpose capability, Even-Heat cold charging, and 5,000 cycle lifespan. Fits Club Car, EZ-GO, Yamaha, and all 48V carts.

Key Features

  • 60+ mile range per charge — 135Ah capacity at 48V (6,912Wh total) outlasts any lead-acid setup. Play multiple rounds without recharging.
  • 108.8 lbs total — 65% lighter than the 6-8 lead-acid batteries it replaces. Your cart accelerates faster, handles better, and uses less energy per mile.
  • Even-Heat Technology — charge safely below freezing. Use your cart year-round without cold weather battery damage.
  • 1,000 CCA per battery — dual purpose design handles motor controller inrush current up to 650A without hesitation.
  • 5,000 cycle lifespan — at one charge per day, that’s 13+ years of daily use. 11-year warranty backs it up.
  • Drop-in replacement — Group 24 size per battery, F12 terminal posts. Fits standard battery trays with included series cables.
  • Flat voltage curve — full speed and torque from hole 1 to hole 18. No “afternoon sag” like lead-acid.
  • Active BMS per battery — independent protection on each unit. One cell imbalance doesn’t take down the whole system.

Weight Comparison

DL+ 48V 135Ah Set (4 batteries) 108.8 lbs
6× Trojan T-105 (6V lead-acid) ~384 lbs
8× US Battery US8VGC (6V) ~504 lbs
Weight saved 275-395 lbs

Less weight = faster acceleration, better hill climbing, less tire/suspension wear, and 15-25% more range from the same Wh.

Compatible Accessories

  • 48V 15A Ultra Fast Charger — purpose-built LiFePO4 charger, full charge in ~9 hours
  • Marine 4-Bank 40A Charger (10A/bank) — charges each battery individually, balances cells across the set
  • Marine Battery Trays (4-pack) — secure Group 24 mounting for all four batteries
  • Terminal Fuse Block Kit 58V/60A — overcurrent protection for the 48V system

Installation Notes

  • Wire the 4 batteries in series: Battery 1 positive → motor controller positive. Battery 1 negative → Battery 2 positive. Continue series chain. Battery 4 negative → motor controller negative.
  • Use the SAME gauge cable as your existing lead-acid setup (typically 4 AWG or 2 AWG).
  • Reprogram your golf cart’s onboard charger for LiFePO4 profile (57.6V max). If your charger isn’t programmable, replace with the 48V 15A LiFePO4 charger.
  • Do NOT use a standard lead-acid golf cart charger — they charge to 58.8V+ which exceeds the BMS cutoff and can damage cells.

FAQ

Will my existing golf cart charger work?

Almost certainly not. Most stock golf cart chargers are designed for lead-acid (58.8V charge target) which exceeds the LiFePO4 safe limit (57.6V max). You need a 48V LiFePO4 charger — either the Dakota Lithium 48V 15A or the 4-Bank charger that charges each 12V battery individually. Some aftermarket chargers have a “lithium” setting that works.

How do I know if my cart is 48V?

Count your existing batteries: 6× 8V batteries = 48V, 8× 6V batteries = 48V, 4× 12V batteries = 48V. If you have 6× 6V batteries, you have a 36V cart — this set won’t work (you need the 36V 60Ah single-case battery instead).

60 miles on a single charge — really?

Yes, on flat terrain at moderate speed. The 135Ah at 48V delivers 6,912Wh. A typical golf cart consumes 100-120Wh per mile on flat ground. That’s 55-70 miles per charge. Hills, heavy passengers, and high speed reduce this. Most golfers get 4-5 full 18-hole rounds per charge.

Can I use this for a 36V cart?

No. This is a 4-battery series set producing 51.2V. For 36V carts, use 3 of the DL+ 12V 135Ah batteries in series, or the single-case 36V 60Ah battery.

Warranty & Certifications

11-year manufacturer warranty on all 4 batteries. Each battery has independent BMS protection and carries its own serial number. Certified UL1642, IEC62133, UN 38.3. Manufactured in ISO 9001:2015 facilities.
